Friday Finds: Blogs I Love

I have been in such a creative slump the past few weeks. I have a ton of projects I need to do, but for some reason I’m just not gaining any momentum on them. I am working really hard on our dining room table, which is an exciting project I’ll be posting here hopefully next week.

But we have been busily taking care of our new baby chicks and working on getting our seeds started for both our vegetable and flower gardens. The vegetable garden will be new for us and I’ll definitely be posting our journey on here so you can learn from our mistakes and what we’ve gathered reading books and online resources. I will also be posting us building our chicken coop – which needs to be done so soon! I’m worried we won’t get it done in time, but hopefully we’ll get good weather this weekend to do it.

So lately I’ve kind of been just hanging out on some blogs I just absolutely love and adore and have such respect for. Sometimes I find that when you’re having a hard time gaining momentum or inspiration, you just need to sit back and appreciate what others are doing. It can give you some real drive to get working on your own projects. So here are the top 5 blogs I’ve been loving lately:
  1. Censational Girl – If you haven’t heard of this wonderful lady’s blog then you really need to go check it out right now. She is just a decorating and project machine! She cranks out things that you would think would take her so long and she is just always posting new things. She is so creative and has the most beautiful and valuable stuff to share. Check her out, bookmark her, and add her to your reader – you won’t regret it. I find I star half of her stuff in my Google Reader!
  2. Young House Love – These two are just so cute. They’re a young couple in their first house and they are just fabulous. They are so good at decorating ideas and solving dilemmas. They’re house is flawless and they’ve been featured practically everywhere for their awesome tutorials and inspirational posts. You’d just love them so check them out and bookmark them too.
  3. Thrifty Decor Chick – This girl is just as awesome as the others. She’s on a mission and she is just loving it. She’s always cranking out new projects she’s done around her house to give you new ideas for your own house. She’s really good and has tackled some things I would have placed on the back burner for ages before getting to (her stair remodel for one). :) So check her out, you’ll love it.
  4. Remodelaholic – This blog is a little bit different in that it features a lot of work done by other people on other blogs. She posts a lot of her own too, but it’s kind of cool to discover so many other crafty ladies out there. There’s always something different on here and you can always find inspiration around every corner. Check it out!
  5. A Beach Cottage – Last but not least in my top 5 is A Beach Cottage. Sarah (nice name! hehe) is so sweet. You can tell she really cares about her readers because I’ll always get responses to my comments and she’s just so friendly. She also has the most gorgeous beach home so you just have to see it. I just love looking at her house all day and dreaming of having a home like that. It’s so inspiring so check her out as well.
Now, believe you me – I have SO MANY more that I look at on a regular basis. But these five I am almost always blown away by and I’m always going back to see if they perhaps updated and it didn’t reach my reader. :) If you haven’t heard of most of them, I’d be surprised – but check them out asap.

One thing that every DIYer is – is never done learning. You can always learn more from others so keep looking and keep learning!

…And I’ll be back next week hopefully with some more inspiration and a refurbished dining room table! Eeeek!
