Butterflies & Jewels Spring Birthday Card

Supplies Checklist:

  • Three Different Scrapbook Papers
  • Small Glue Dots
  • Ribbon
  • Yarn
  • 12″ Paper Trimmer
  • Zig Zag Scissors
  • 5″ Regular Scissors
  • Tag
  • Zig Writter In Black

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

  • Card Making Tutorials Gather the supplies listed above.
  • Card Making Tips Cut the green dotted paper to about 5″x7″.
  • Card Making Ideas Cut the butterfly paper to about 5″x5″.
  • How To Make Birthday Cards Attach the butterfly paper to the dotted paper at an angle, cut off the excess corners.
  • Card Making Tutorials Attach the ribbon to the top right corner along the angle of the butterfly paper.
  • Card Making Tips Cut out a birthday hat shape with the purple paper.
  • Card Making Ideas Cut out the same shape with the butterfly paper, but slightly smaller and attach to the purple one.
  • How To Make Birthday Cards Then add a purple circle to the top of the hat and attach it to the card.
  • Card Making Tutorials Attach the tag to the center of the birthday card.
  • Card Making Tips Tie the yarn through the hole of the tag so it looks like it’s holding it onto the card. Glue down if necessary.
  • Card Making Ideas Write your message on the tag with a pencil first.
  • How To Make Birthday Cards Trace over the message with a marker.
  • Card Making Tutorials Next create a present looking piece with teh different papers. The purple piece is to add a dropshadow so the butterfly paper doesn’t blend in with the background.
  • Card Making Tips Attach to the card.
  • Card Making Ideas Make more hats, attach, and attach beads with the glue dots.
  • How To Make Birthday Cards Then add a ribbon to the bottom right angle of the butterfly paper to balance it out a little bit.
  • Card Making Tutorials Glue the whole thing to the purple paper.
  • Card Making Tips Cut the purple paper closer to the card with the zig zag scissors to create a nice border.
