Today I’ll be making my St. Patrick’s Day scrapbook page for 2009! We didn’t do anything because my husband had to work :( so I took some pictures of my yorkie’s cute little St. Patrick’s Day shirt and the St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes I made.

Supplies Checklist:

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page First gather the supplies listed above.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Next place your solid paper on top of the patterned paper in the upper left corner so that there is space beneath and to the right side of the solid paper.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Using the pencil and a ruler, mark where you’ll need to cut based on the edges of the patterned paper.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Using the trimmer, trim down the solid paper square to the lines you made.
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Then using the adhesive dots, attach the square to the top left corner of the patterned paper.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages For a nice straight edge, put the pre-cut edges of the solid paper in the top corner (not the cuts you just made).
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Using the larger green ribbon, lay it down over the paper and leave about 1″ over the top and the bottom of the page and cut it (it will probably be about 14″ when cut).
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Put adhesive dots all down the ribbon, except within that 1″ on the top and bottom.
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Attach the ribbon up and down right over the right side of the square you just layed down.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Flip the paper over and fold over the ribbon, attaching it to the back with the adhesive dots.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Do the same thing, but horizontally, with the smaller, dotted green ribbon.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Using one of the tags, write your message on it with pencil first (so you can erase mistakes).
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Then write over the pencil with the marker.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Once the marker is dried, erase the pencil marks.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas We are going to push one of the buttons through the center of the page where the ribbons meet to place the tag there.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Using an x-acto knife push a small hole through both ribbons and the paper.
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Then place the tag and put the button through the hole in the tag and the small hole you just made.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Flip over the paper and push out the pins to secure the button in place.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Now we are going to make a bow out of the wavy green ribbon. Cut the ribbon to about 6″ and make the bow, glue it together with the adhesive dots.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Cut off the excess ribbon so both sides are even.
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Remove the button (for now).
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Then attach the bow to the left side of the tag with the adhesive dots. Then re-attach the button.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Place your images now so that you know where you need to work around for the rest of the embelishments on the page.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Next we’re going to make a 4 leaf clover out the the wavy green ribbon. Cut 4 pieces of ribbon about 2-½” long and one piece about 1-½” long.
  • St. Patrick's Day Scrabook Page Curl the 2-½” pieces into each other forming 4 leaves and glue together.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages Then glue the 1-½” piece where you want the stem to be on the paper and glue each of the 4 leaves at the top of the stem.
  • Scrapbook Page Ideas Push a small hole through the center of the leaves and stem with the x-acto knife, push another button through it, and secure on the back.
  • Scrapbook Page Layouts Lastly, create the word “Lucky” using the wavy green ribbon as well. Just eyeball this one, but for the “u” and the “c” I just took one piece, curled it, and attached the ends to the paper.
  • Ribbon On Scrapbook Pages You’re all done! Enjoy your new page!
This was a fairly easy, but cute page layout. I hope it helped you out with your St. Patrick’s Day scrapbook page layout (or another scrapbook page layout)! Feel free to post your results. :)
